TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
After their League Cup exit at the hands of Norwich in midweek, Tottenham will want to return to winning ways when they welcome Wigan to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham enters this match winning five of their last six Premier League games to go fourth in the standings with 17 points but in midweek were surprised by Norwich as they were handed a 2-1 defeat in the fourth round of the League Cup.
For the record, Tottenham have lost just three of their last 23 Premier League home games, but they did suffer a defeat to Chelsea in their last home clash.
Andre Villas-Boas' men will be keen bounce back with a win against Wigan as they will be keen to close the gap to the two Manchester's - United and City who are both on 21 points.
WIGAN ATHLETIC
Opponents Wigan were also sent packing in the Capital One Cup in midweek, after they were beaten by League Two side Bradford on penalties after it ended goalless in after 120 minutes of play.
Roberto Martinez's side, who sit 15th in the table, claimed their first home win of the season last weekend when they beat West Ham 2-1 and will no doubt want to repeat a similar result against another London club.
Wigan have lost their last three away games on the trot, a heavy 0-4 defeat at Manchester United, followed by signle goal losses at both Sunderland and Swansea.
HEAD TO HEAD
However Wigan do not have a good recent record against Tottenham. To date Tottenham have won four and lost just once in their last six meetings with Wigan.
That run includes Spurs' biggest ever Premier League win, when they demolished Wigan 9-1 at White Hart Lane back in November 2009.
