Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have made a decent start to the season, but their early issues were having too many draws. However, recent weeks has seen them begin turning those into wins and that has seen them moving up the table in the right direction once again.
The side are 7th in the Championship but they have picked up 21 points which leaves them just 7 points behind Cardiff City at the top of the table. No team has lost fewer League games than Forest so far this season who bring in a 3-2-1 record at the City Ground into this game, scoring 8 goals and conceding 5 in those games.
Since a surprise 0-1 loss to Derby County in the Midlands Derby, Forest are unbeaten in their last 5 games and they actually have won 3 of their last 4. Forest won their last game here at home 3-1 against Cardiff City, although they had failed to win any of their previous 3 games at the City Ground.
Millwall
While Nottingham Forest are in very good form, Millwall won't come into this fixture with anything to fear as they too have been moving up the table in recent games. The expectations at the New Den are much less than the ones at Forest, but Kenny Jackett should still be respected for what he gets out of this club.
Millwall are now 15th in the Championship after crushing Huddersfield Town last weekend and they improved their points tally to 16 for the season which means they are still within touching distance of both the Play Offs and the relegation scrap. They have a 1-3-2 record away from home, scoring 10 goals and conceding 12 in those games.
The side come into this fixture having extended their unbeaten run to 6 games, although they have won just 2 of those games. Millwall have drawn their last 3 away games, but they have failed to win any of their last 5 games. They have conceded at least 2 goals in 4 of their last 5 games away from home, although they have hit at least 2 in 3 of those games too.
Head to Head
Nottingham Forest really struggled for much of the season last year, but they did record a vital 3-1 win over Millwall here at the City Ground in March.
That has extended Forest's run to 4 unbeaten at home against Millwall of which the home side have won 3.
Millwall have won just 1 of their last 7 visits to the City Ground.
Prediction
Both of these sides have been in very good form in recent weeks and that should produce an entertaining game for the fans in attendance on Saturday afternoon.
Nottingham Forest have been solid for much of the season, but they are now turning draws into wins and that is propelling them up the table, while Millwall are a little vulnerable on their travels.
It has taken comebacks from the Lions to avoid defeat in their last 3 away games, including a last minute equaliser at Burnley and coming back from 2 goals down at Crystal Palace and there is every chance that luck runs out here.
Backing Forest at odds on isn't really for me as I think they are going to need to score at least twice to win this one with Millwall scoring in every away game they have played this season. However, I do think the home side will win the game so am going to take them in the Quatro market at Ladbrokes where Forest are priced to win the game at 2.75 with at least 3 goals scored in the match.
The Pick :
Nottingham Forest 3-1 Millwall
