2012-11-03 - Fleetwood Town vs Bromley
A Sports Betting Pick by Lamps
Football : England : FA Cup
Saturday 3rd November - Kickoff 3:00pm
Fleetwood Town
Big spenders Fleetwood continue their surge "Crawley like" up through the divisions and right now they are going great guns in League Two. Currently in 4th place they trail an automatic spot by 2 points and come into this FA Cup first round tie high on confidence.
Mellon's side are unbeaten in the last 3 games and have just 1 defeat in 8 coming into this tie. Town are also at home which is a big advantage as most underdogs tend to perform better in front of their own fans in these early cup rounds.
The home form is a little off at the moment with 1 win from 4 games. That victory came over Barnet (2-1) but since then there has been a loss to Wycombe (0-1) and then a draw to Wimbledon (1-1).
Mellon's side have scored in 5 of their last 6 home games this season averaging over 1.50 goals a time. Against lower league opposition they should get at least 2 on Saturday. A big negative is that they have kept just 1 clean sheet over the same period with Port Vale even scoring 5 against them in a game!
Bromley
The Kent based club play 2 leagues below their opponents on Saturday. Bromley are in 16th place in the Conference South and are right in the thick of a relegation battle.
Goldberg's side have a 2 point cushion ahead of the drop zone and they must ensure Conference South status. Despite the poor league position they come here with very streaky form W-L-W-L-W from their last 5 overall. I think that trend will continue Saturday with unfortunately an L in that form guide to come.
Away from home they are unbeaten in 4 winning 3 which is excellent. However wins over Truro, Sutton and Dover are good in their own right but Fleetwood's squad is huge and their reserves would probably all be starters for these sides.
Bromley have nothing to lose here and I see them putting up a good fight. But at the end of the day, Fleetwood are such a powerhouse that I think they will eventually fall short.
Betting Verdict
Fleetwood are likely to be many punter's bankers this weekend and their 1.33 quotes will see plenty of accas i'm sure. I will take them on the asian line as I see them winning and winning comofortably.
They play 2 divisions above Bromley of whom despite their away form are down in 16th place in the Conference South. Fleetwood have a had extra rest, have better players and are at home, all of which points to a home win.
The Chairman has invested heavily in the side and will want as much extra prize money as possible. Fleetwood will take this seriously and the last thing they want is a reply so this should end in at least a 2 goal home win.
Good Luck
