Blackburn Rovers
Top of the tree Blackburn are leaving it late to win games these days but they have managed to get 6 points in their last 2 games despite trailing in both.
Kean's side have one of the best sides in this division and if it wasn't for their off field problems I would have backed them ante post myself.
So far it's 6 played and 6 unbeaten for the Lancashire club. The club is on a nice run of 4 wins from 5 and with Rhodes already finding his coring boots Rovers will be a force this season.
3 games played a Ewood Park and there has been 3 wins. Hull (1-0), Leicester (2-1) and Barnsley (2-1) have been defeated here with all the games very close with no side dominating throughout.
Surprisingly Rovers have only kept 1 clean sheet all season. Kean's men are playing a pretty open game at the moment and the last 2 results of (3-5) and (2-1) testify to that.
Middlesbrough
Boro travel to Ewood in 11th place with 9 points but have lost a little momentum of late. With 2 defeats in the last 3 Mowbray needs to get his side winning again but this seems unlikely at Ewood.
All of Boro's wins have come at the Riverside but they have lost all 3 away from home. The side is generally attacking like the hosts and as a result they haven't been involved in a draw this season.
Barnsley (1-0), Millwall (3-1), Blackpool (4-1) have defeat this Boro side and leaking goals is a real problem for this side. No clean sheets on the road is also a worry against Blackburn's attacking side.
Going back into last season Boro have lost 4 in a row and 5 of the last 6. We saw last year that they can frustrate on the road drawing 3 straight before entering this current run.
In the last 9 away games the visitors have scored in 8 and will certainly carry a goal threat. To think they score so often but still lose isn't a good sign though.
Betting Verdict
I like Rovers here but to win 3 in a row in this division isn't easy. Boro have played well at home but away they just can't get a good result and are pointless from 3.
I do respect their goal threat and think Boro will score at least 1 on Friday. Both sides are on short rest periods having played twice in 5 days and we may see some slack defending.
Rovers have an awful clean sheet record but are scoring bucket loads. Boro have lost a lot away from home but do seem to score so you can see where this is going. With Boro not drawing any away games in 7 we should get a winner and therefore over 2.50 goals is my bet here.
Good Luck
The Pick :
