19th placed City are not living up to their pre season favourites label. Pearson is severely under pressure to perform with his expensive squad but so far it's not working out.
The hosts won their opening game against rock bottom and pointless Posh (2-0) but have since lost 3 of the next 4. The good news is that both wins have come at home with the second victory against high flying Blackpool (1-0).
The 3 defeats were all on the road at Charlton (2-1), Blackburn (2-1) and Wolves (2-1) in a recurring theme of 2-1 losses!
At the King Power Stadium City have lost just once in 10 and as mentioned above have 2 wins in 2 this year. The last 3 home wins have come to nil and in the last 6 games only West Ham have scored a goal against them.
Burnley
1 place above Leicester in 18th are Burnley. Like City they have 6 points as well as the club has failed to draw a game this season.
Howe's side come here on the back of a thumping win over Peterborough (5-2) at the weekend which sets this game up nicely. The Clartes have 2 wins this season with the other a big derby win over Bolton (2-0) on opening day. I was a little worried for them as they went 3 without victory but hopefully Saturday's result will kick start their season.
In both away games this season Burnley have been beaten. Middlesbrough (3-2) and Huddersfield (2-0) defeated this side and visiting Leicester at the King Power Stadium is not ideal when looking to change the clubs away results.
Burnley have now lost 3 straight going back into last season away from home. Going further back it's just 2 wins in 11 as the side continues to ship goals. 9 conceded in the last 3 isn't good enough and failing to score in 2 of the last 4 isn't great either.
Betting Verdict
Leicester are the correct favourites here. They are a force at home and Burnley struggle away however at around 4/5 it seems a touch short for me.
Leicester can't keep winning just at home and losing away, eventually they will drop points and pick them up on their travels. This is similar for the visitors as they have too much attacking talent to not get goals and points on the road.
Last season's game was a 0-0 draw here and in the last 4 head to heads Leicester have 2 wins to Burnley's 1. The hosts are the better side but they look too short for me in this one.
I prefer to play team goals for Leicester in this one. If they are going to win I think they need 2 goals so to see this price better than the win price it makes sense to back it.
Burnley have conceded at least 2 in their last 3 away games whilst the hosts should find more space against Burnley compared to better sides in Wolves and Blackpool. For the odds on offer I would rather be on the Foxes goals than the straight win in this one.
