We're seeing a pretty decent 1.56 for those that like to lump on singles as I think Sheffield United have the talent to win comfortably here. Their visitors are Bury, a team they have not lost against in their last 9 meetings. No fewer than 6 were won by Sheffield.
The Blades narrowly missed out on promotion, first being pipped to the automatic spots by rivals Wednesday and then getting so close but then failing in the playoffs. Anyway, there has been a bit of a stumble this year, as they are now without last years top scorer Evans (rape dude, locked up).
While Sheffield United have stumbled away from home, drawing 1-1 at Coventry, Colchester and Scunthorpe, they have found goals easier to come by when home, where they have a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury in the season opener, and more recently, and hence relevant, 5-3 beating of Bournemouth. So far this season, undefeated.
Bury have now gone 3 meetings with Sheffield without scoring. They will have a tough time getting any kind of result here as their season is off to a terrible start, drawing 2 and losing 3 which leaves them 23rd in the table! Bury cannot keep clean sheets, and they have conceded 2 goals in each of their last 4 games since that 0-0 stalemate with Brentford to open the season. Their away record stinks, with just the 1 win in their last 13 trips away from home. So far this season, no wins.
While Bury are terrible away, Sheffield are great at home. As I said, 2 wins from 2 home games this term, and going back to last season stats show Sheffield have won 13 of their last 16 here. I think they should be shorter than 1.56 but thanks to those results away from home we are getting a bit of value.
BETTING VERDICT
If you're looking for a high priced banker type bet, this is it. Sheffield are desperate to be promoted, and with the side dropping points away from home it is imperative they grab maximum points at home, especially against poor opposition like Bury. Home win.
