Udinese
Udinese crashed out from the UCL play-off for the second time in a row losing to Braga this time 5-6 on penalties.
The Friulani weren’t luckier in the first round of Seria A either, they’ve took the lead in Firenze, but Jovetic with a second half brace managed to secure a victory for the home side.
Francesco Guidolin declared that he might consider leaving Udinese after this disappointing results, but owner Gianpaolo Pozzo managed to persuade him to continue with the club.
Despite missing the decisive penalty against Braga in a stupid way, Brazilian striker Maicosuel is likely to be the one supporting Di Natale in front.
Juventus
Juventus started the season with a predictable win against Parma (2-0) despite missing a penalty in the first half. The final score is a bit harsh for Parma, they had plenty of opportunities to get back into the match after conceding the goals, but goalkeeper Storari was in great form.
The Bianconeri spent a lot this summer on players like Isla, Asamoah or Giovinco, yet they still felt the need to improve the squad and signed Nicklas Bendtner on a season-long loan from Arsenal.
I don’t think he’ll find a place in Juve’s starting eleven, unless one of the strikers suffers an injury. Bendtner will be competing with Mirko Vucinic and Matri.
Lucio, Isla, Giovinco, Pepe and Caceres have all been ruled out, but the good news is that Italian international Chiellini is fit to play.
The Betting Verdict
Juventus is the obvious favorite here, they’ve signed two of Udinese’s best men this summer (Isla and Asamoah) and they are the undefeated champions from last season.
Udinese could also be affected both physically and mentally by the fact that they will be missing out the CL group stage after losing to Braga on penalties.
Juventus have won their last five away games in Seria A to nil despite playing against decent sides like Fiorentina, Palermo or Cagliari. They’ve also managed to keep a clean sheet the last two times when travelling to Udine.
Since Udinese is likely to be tired and will be playing against a solid defense I’d assume that Juventus could keep a clean sheet here, but the home side is strong enough at home not to concede more than two goals so under 2.5 goals could be a good option that covers a wide range of likely result.
Those who want to take a bit of a risk could go for Juventus to win to nil which can be found at 2.62 at bet365.
