Manchester City started their Premierhip defence in unconvincing fashion with a 3-2 win against newcomers Southampton followed by a 2-2 draw against Liverpool. Now they get a chance to make amends when they welcome Queen Park Rangers to the Etihad Stadium.
Fomer boss Mark Hughes who was sacked back in 2009 will be hoping his QPR side can spring an upset, but the odds are against them going into this match. Manchester City has a formidable record at home and they started off with a 3-2 win over Southampton and they will be eager to put the 2-2 draw against Liverpool behind them in this match.

Last season Manchester City won both games by 3-2 margins including a final day showdown which saw Mancini's men snatch the top flight crown in spectacular style. For the record, QPR's last victory over the Blues came back in 2000, when both were plying their trade in the third tier of English football.

Manchester City are still without striker Sergio Aguero and midfielder Gareth Barry for this match. Aguero (knee) is likely to be out until mid-September while Barry (abdominal) might still be three or four weeks away from a return despite playing for the reserves.
Meanwhile, England right-back Micah Richards (ankle) also remains on the sidelines.
QPR Team News :
Esteban Granero could make his QPR debut at City after he received international clearance after his move from Real Madrid. However, new goalkeeper Julio Cesar from Inter Milan will not feature as he has not been given clearance and Samba Diakite is also missing for personal reasons. The good news is that Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer could feature after returning from their respective long-term layoffs in midweek.
