Would you believe Granada and Madrid have both gained just 1 point from their opening couple of matches in La Liga. A loss and a draw apiece, although things will surely change drastically for Real Madrid, who last went 3 games without a win in 2009.
In case you're wondering, last years fixture ended in a 5-1 tonking for Granada. Expect more of that today as a frustrated Madrid get their season properly on track.
Granada have not won their last 4 matches now, going back to last season. They have no chance here, as their travelling form is rubbish. They travelled and lost no fewer than 14 times last season!
So the question here is surely this, how many will Madrid score at home as they look to change around their rubbish start to the season. Mourinho's men drew 1-1 here against visiting Valencia, before suffering a 2-1 loss away at Getafe. They will know they can gain valuable goal difference here too, as they have scored 14 against Getafe in beating them over the last meetings.
Ronaldo has conspicuously been left off the scoresheet, something I think we can bank on to change here. It may well be from the penalty spot too, so any bets on that are well worth looking at. Then there is Modric, who will surely have chances aplenty as he gets more playing time to adapt.
BETTING VERDICT
I'm going to be cautious here as we start the La Liga betting. Madrid look like they could bang in a few today but I'll be conservative and go with them to score at least 3, which should not be a problem. Shorter odds but I would rather start slow and not rely on them to score crazy numbers before they are showing signs of hitting serious form.
Easy opponents, should be an easy win with goals on either side of HT for Madrid.
