PREVIEW

Texas are 40-27 and come here with a 20-15 road record. They are just off a 3 game sweep of the Houston Astros, scoring 23 runs. With the bats hot, I'm looking at the Over today.

The Rangers are starting Matt Harrison, who is 8-3 with a 3.54 ERA. Harrison's numbers look decent but even if he gives up that number it will be enough to send the game over as Texas look likely to score a bunch.

Harrison has been poor on the road, giving up 19 runs in his 7 road starts. San Diego burnt us as they swept Seattle a few days ago, and with the team currently managing to hit well, I think we can rely on them to put up at least 3 runs here if not more.

The Padres counter with Jason Marquis, who is 3-5 with a big 6.60ERA. That should be enough, shouldn't it? Texas scored 23 against the Astros, so will likely destroy him today. Marquis has done very poorly in interleague matches, racking up a 5.65ERA over 37 such meetings.

BETTING VERDICT

Massive value price at Pinnacle as this number looks short to me. Let's go with the Over as both sides should be able to knock the pitchers around.
