After Rapid Bucuresti slipped up yesterday against Targu Mures (1-1), Vaslui can now climb to the second place of the table if they manage to beat Gaz Metan Medias.
Vaslui is probably CFR Cluj’s most dangerous opponent in the battle for the title, they have recorded four victories in a row and they’ll probably make it five today against a struggling Medias side.

Gaz Metan Medias (11th W-10 D-7 L-12)
Gaz Metan qualified for the Europa League last season and even managed to eliminate Mainz 05, but supporters from Medias will not attend European football next season, their time is fighting to avoid relegation.
Medias is only five points above the drop zone, but they are also coming after a good run, they have recorded three straight victories, one of them in Bucharest against Sportul Studentesc.
Coach Cristi Pustai is expected to leave the club after a five years spell, this is actually a record in Liga 1, a league where Mioveni had seven (7) different coaches in one season and the championship is not over yet.

The Betting Verdict
Gaz Metan is not safe yet, they still have work to do but this match is probably the toughest from their remaining fixtures, so a defeat here wouldn’t be unexpected.
They’ll face Petrolul Ploiesti, Concordia Chiajna and Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt later this month so there are plenty of opportunities to collect some points that would secure their presence in next season’s Liga 1.
Vaslui on the other hand has a very different objective and in order to win the title they’ll probably have to win every match from now on, which is a difficult task in this unpredictable league.
This looks like a one sided match, Vaslui should probably do enough to secure the win and move just three points behind leaders CFR Cluj.
