2012-05-06 - Bolton Wanderers vs West Bromwich Albio
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Match Preview :
Bolton will want to win this match as they make a late bid to avoid relegation. They will come up against new England manager Roy Hodgson's West Bromwich Albion side who have lost just once in their last five matches.
Bolton suffered more misery in midweek when they lost to Tottenham going down 4-1. That result made their relegation troubles even harder.
Owen Coyle's side are third-bottom of the Premier League with two games remaining and must find form against the Baggies and Stoke on the final day of the campaign, while at the same time hoping results around them go their way, if they are to stay in the Premiership.
Bolton will look to avoid a repeat of their trip to the The Hawthorns back in November when they were beaten 2-1 by the Baggies, currently in tenth spot.
Meanwhile, WBA manager Hodgson was unveiled as the new England boss in midweek and will leave the club at the end of the season, when he will turn his attention to leading the national side at Euro 2012.
He will be looking to end his term in charge of the Baggies on a high by winning their last two matches. As it is now, West Brom are on course for a top-10 finish and have taken 10 points from their last five league matches.
In their last match, Fulham held relegation-threatened Aston Villa to a goalless stalemate.
Team News :
Bolton Team News :
Bolton midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker will undergo a fitness test ahead of tonight's match. Reo-Coker, who has been nursing a leg problem, had a similar assessment before Wednesday's 4-1 home defeat against Tottenham and had to come off in the second half of that match.
Bolton boss Coyle has confirmed Gretar Steinsson has been out of action with a thigh injury rather than illness and the defender remains a doubt for this clash. Meanwhile, midfielder Darren Pratley is still sidelined with a virus.
West Brom Team News :
Hodgson has no fresh injury problems for this clash. Midfielder James Morrison has resumed training after recovering from his knee setback but the manager has to decide whether he is fit enough to start this match.
Striker Shane Long picked up a knock during the goalless draw with Aston Villa last weekend but should be able to start this clash. Marc-Antoine Fortune is on standby if he fails to recover in time. Midfielder Zoltan Gera and right-back Steven Reid remain out with injuries.
