Juventus crushed Roma in the weekend and took a major step towards Seria A title with an impressive 4-0 victory over 10-man Giallorossi.
Roma looked vulnerable in the back and it was no surprise that they went down 3-0 after just a half an hour. This was Luis Enrique’s third consecutive defeat on the road, the Giallorossi conceding 10 goals in the process.
Roma’s inconsistency may cost them a CL spot at the end of the season, they have lost a total of 12 games so far, the worst record in the top-half. They recorded some decent results when playing at home though, they’ve won five of their last six games at home.
Stekelenburg, Lamela and Bojan are all suspended for this match, so Luis Enrique won’t have too many options in front. Defenders Juan and Burdisso are still injured, but Heinze is back which means that De Rossi won’t have to play as a central defender like he did against Juventus.

Fiorentina recorded their second consecutive goalless draw at home against Inter, which doesn’t help them in the battle of avoiding relegation. La Viola only has a 3 points advantage over the drop zone (Lecce) which means that they are stepping on thin ice at the moment.
La Viola may be responsible with sending the title to Torino after a sensational win at Sansiro against Milan on their previous game on the road. Fiorentina made a nice comeback after Ibrahimovic gave Milan the lead and a late Amauri goal earned them a great win.
Fiorentina has a poor record against AS Roma, their last victory in the capital was back in February 1992 when they recorded a 3-1 win.
Jovetic recovered from an injury which is good news for Delio Rossi, the Montenegrin is Fiorentina’s top scorer with 13 goals so far. Defender Per Koldrup is ruled out with an injury.

As I said earlier, Roma has won five of their last six games at home and also recorded victories in their last six home matches against Fiorentina which would be a strong reason to back them here.
Fiorentina will have to come up with something special if they want to go home undefeated and they need at least a point from this one because they have slumped alarmingly close to the relegation zone, so a performance like the one against Milan would be much needed.
Roma is chasing a CL spot and any wrong steps at the Olimpico may blow their hopes away considering their poor away form. Fiorentina will have to score in order to get a result here because Roma scored at least once in every game played at home this season and there’s a good chance they’ll do it again.
