2012-03-21 - Queens Park Rangers vs Liverpool
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Match Preview :
Queens Park Rangers welcomes Liverpool as they fight for Premiership survival in the Premiership. It does not look good for them however as they sit 18th in the table and have taken just two points from their last six matches, winning just once at home in the top flight since 23rd October.
Meanwhile, Blackburn's continued resurgence, which was boosted on Tuesday by victory over Sunderland, is the last thing Mark Hughes needs and he has not been helped by a tough fixture list.
Before the end of the campaign and on top of their game against Liverpool, QPR must face Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and, on the last day, Manchester City!
Even though it is a tall order, Hughes will be desperate for a win against Kenny Dalglish's men to build some form of confidence and momentum.
Liverpool, though, will want to rescue themselves in the league after a campaign which has been saved by victory in the Carling Cup final and a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
As it is now, Liverpool sit seventh and 10 points off Arsenal after four defeats in their last five away games. Dalglish initial plans was to finish in the top four of the league and secure a return to the UEFA Champions League.
And one of Liverpool's first tasks in securing a win will be to stop former striker Djibril Cisse from scoring, with the Frenchman hoping to come back to haunt his former side.
Team News :
QPR Team News :
Adel Taarabt is back in contention for QPR after the playmaker missed the controversial defeat at Bolton 10 days ago with a hamstring strain. Injury-plagued striker DJ Campbell is back in training and could return in early April, as could top scorer Heidar Helguson (groin) BUT PLAYS NO PART IN THIS MATCH TONIGHT.
Liverpool Team News :
Liverpool defender Glen Johnson and forward Craig Bellamy are both likely to miss this match. Johnson has not played since the Carling Cup final victory over Cardiff in February, but Dalglish thinks Martin Kelly will be fit to again act as cover despite limping out of the FA Cup quarter-final win over Stoke.
Bellamy has sat out the last two matches and is not expected to play any part while centre-back Daniel Agger is still recovering from a broken rib.
Possible lineups
QPR : Kenny, Hill, Traore, Ferdinand, Onuoha, Diakite, Taarabt, Barton, Wright-Phillips, Cisse, Zamora
Liverpool : Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique, Henderson, Spearing, Gerrard, Kuyt, Carroll, Suarez
Predictions :
Take Liverpool to win this match as it is hard to see QPR without a home win since October last year could trouble The Reds.
The Pick :
QPR 0-2 Liverpool
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take Liverpool to win this match.
Gooner’s Statistical Value Bet
Go for Liverpool to clear the -3/4 ball as it is hard to see QPR troubling Dalglish's side here.
