Inter are without a win in their last four games so they will be desperate to get a win here tonight. Inter last weekend lost to Novara and are back in crisis as that was their third defeat in four games and without just one win in five games. Today Ranieri will call upon whoever that is fit and available. This is because a flu virus and a series of injuries continue to sweep through the side. As for Bologna, they arrived without playing for two weeks as the Juventus game was called off. The club are in fact still on their season-longest unbeaten run, having avoided defeat for the last five Serie A matches played. Coach Stefano Pioli admitted that the two weeks off as well as the coming fixture congestion could end that run. The fact every other side has at least played once more than them in recent weeks has seen the team’s six-point advantage over the drop-zone cut to four and Bologna slip to 17th in the standings now. Pioli knows that after Inter loss to Novara they will come make angry and strong for this match.
The good news is that Pioli has a fully fit squad to choose from. Piopli admitted to adopting a more defensive approach but even so they will not defend even if they have five defenders on the field.
