PREVIEW
Roberto Mancini is correct in saying it's too early to be talking about his team as champions, but if Santa does give him his Christmas present, 6 points from the next 2 games, it would be hard to argue against Manchester City successfully buying their way to their first Premier League Championship.
It's not going to be easy though, as the next 2 games are against Chelsea and Arsenal, neither of which are going to roll over easy on current form.
Chelsea have the advantage of playing at home, where they have an excellent record over Manchester City, but of course previous results matter not one jot as this is a completely new City outfit, expensively assembled and not short of talent.
This is a Manchester City side that has trounced Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, but I am encouraged by the 2 draws City have been held to, pegged back excellently at home by Fulham and more recently by Liverpool, who could well have handed them their first loss.
City have seen their first Champions League campaign fail, despite a final group game win over Bayern (they were already through though). We have seen United bounce back from the same fate by thumping their opposition this weekend 4-1, but Chelsea are not the same as Wolverhampton.
Chelsea seem to have found their feet recently, with 2 clean sheets against Newcastle and then Valencia in what was a very high pressured game against a team that came to play. Both games ended 3-0 to the Blues, and it seems the West London team might be the one in the right frame of mind coming into this.
Manchester City might just struggle here, as they have done when dealing with Champions League heartache. Their 1-1 draw with Napoli set them up for a letdown, where they drew 2-2 at Fulham despite leading 2-0. After they lost 2-1 at Napoli, they came back and were held 1-1 by Liverpool, who were in form. Chelsea's current streak is but 2 games old, but it might be the start of a serious run, and who better to get up for than Manchester City, who no one wants to see continue this unbeaten run.
BETTING VERDICT
Maybe it's a West London thing, but this near perfect City outfit have struggled here. Fulham pegged them back to a 2-2 draw, while new boys QPR made them work for their win, a 3-2 result.
Chelsea are 10 points behind Manchester City and a loss would see them drop 13 behind. Villas Boas cannot afford to have his Premier League chances go up in flames before Christmas, and his players can't either. This will be a game to watch and I'm going to stick my neck out and go against City.

I shall be taking Chelsea on the AH to avoid defeat as one of my bets, and for my freebie shall take the Blues to end City's undefeated run.
Come on Chelsea!
