2011-12-11 - Stoke vs Tottenham
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Match Preview :
Tottenham can do no wrong at the moment and they will want to continue their winning run when they travel to face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium for the late kickoff on Super Sunday.
Having managed to win 10 out of their 11 Premiership games, Tottenham are no doubt the team of the moment and in that run they only dropped points against Newcastle.
Tottenham managed to beat Bolton last weekend with the visitors reduced to ten men at White Hart Lane and the fans believe they can go on and mount a serious title challenge. Tottenham must take caution as it is not always easy playing against Stoke as they didn't have a game in the Europa League to play in midweek.
It has to be said that though Stoke qualified to the knock out stages, their domestic form has suffered slightly as a result. Nevertheless Stoke have won their last two matches in the league and are currently well-placed in eighth.
Tottenham are seven points behind league-leaders Manchester City and are looking for their fourth consecutive Premier League away victory at the expense of Stoke. However it must be noted that they have never previously achieved four Premiership wins in a row.
Interestingly, Spurs will come up against their former striker Peter Crouch this weekend, who made the move to Stoke in the summer.
Team News :
Stoke City Team News :
Stoke City could welcome back midfielders Jermaine Pennant and Rory Delap for Sunday's visit of Spurs. The duo missed last weekend's win at Everton with minor knocks but could come back into contention for this clash.
Andy Wilkinson injured his back in training this week and a late decision will be made whether he is fit to start the game. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is back in the side after sustaining mild concussion at Everton.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News :
For Tottenham, Redknapp must decide whether Rafael van der Vaart is ready to return to the starting line-up as the Dutch playmaker was brought on in the second half against Bolton.
Ledley King is a doubt to start this match and if he does not make it means that William Gallas is set to play in central defence. Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon are both in fine form and will be looking to cause trouble to the Stoke defence.
However, Bale and Jermain Defoe trained on their own on Friday and both face late fitness tests ahead of the contest.
