Everton host Wolves looking to break a run of 5 losses in their last 6 games, but they won't have it easy here. Wolves finally won before the international break, beating bottom of the heap Wigan 3-1. That win was the first after going without one through September and October. This one is tough to call.

The 17th placed Toffees actually won the last meeting with Wolves 3-0 but they are on a skid at the moment and looking back, I find that the last 2 meetings between these 2 at a Goodison Park ended 1-1. Wolves are above Everton in 13th at the moment, but are heavily overpriced here as underdogs, at about 5/1.

Mick McCarthy's Wolves might be on a losing streak away from home but in those losses we can see they have at least competed, losing 2-1 at Liverpool and 3-1 at Manchester City. Not many teams score at City so we can take confidence from that performance in Wolves staying competitive here, with a very good chance at a win.

Everton have found it very difficult to score recently, netting just 5 times in their last 6 games. In fact, 3 of those games saw them shut out completely. Louis Saha seems to be the only striker at this club and Rodwell netted their last as they lost 2-1 to Newcastle. Against Manchester United, Everton were able to frustrate and defend well enough to restrict the Devils to just 1, but failed to score themselves.

A lot is being made of the fact Wolves haven't won here since the late 70s but then Wolves went to Anfield and clawed their way to a 1-0 win against a struggling Liverpool side. There is a very good chance of them pulling a result here and I would put no one off taking them at almost 6/1 over at Pinnacle. I'm going with a safer option.

BETTING VERDICT

There is a great chance of a Wolves win or a draw but I see the 1 goal start as a very safe bet. I just cannot imagine Everton winning by a comfortable margin.
