This early kickoff sees both sides managing just one win this season. But the surprise has to be Arsenal as they managed their first win at home against Swansea last weekend while Blackburn claimed their only point of the season at Fulham last weekend.
The two sides are very similar on their present form with Rovers winning just once in nine Premier League home games and the Gunners holding the same record on their travels.
Steve Kean is walking a tight rope as there are also planned protests this weekend for him to go. The club's owners have asked the fans to be patient and to continue showing support to the team.
Prior to their trip to play Fulham, Blackburn had lost all three top-flight games - an early run of form that has seen them dropped to the bottom of the Premier League.
Meanwhile Arsene Wenger's team go into the clash on the back of a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund in midweek for the Champions League.

For Blackburn, Junior Hoilett and Chris Samba both suffered injuries in the draw at Fulham but should recover in time to face the Gunners. Hoilett left the pitch with concussion after a collision with Mark Schwarzer while Samba was taken out with a back injury. But the problem is with key trio David Dunn (calf), Ryan Nelson (knee) and Morten Gamst Pedersen (thigh) who will all undergo late fitness test before they can take to the field.
For Arsenal, they have Gervinho and Alex Song both available after completing their suspensions. Meanwhile, Abou Diaby (knee) and Sebastien Squillaci (calf) will definitely miss the game as will Thomas Vermaelen and Jack Wilshere who are out with ankloe injuries. Aaron Ramsey has an outside chance of playing despite missing their clash in midweek.
