PREVIEW
Bolton started the season in amazing fashion with a 4-0 win over QPR but have since been beaten badly in their last 3 matches, surrendering 11 goals in that time. Manchester United were the last to get in on the action, with a 5-0 drubbing last Sunday.
Norwich were meant to struggle, and they are, but they did start the season with a couple of draws before beginning a 2 game losing streak coming into this. No shame in that though, as they performed excellently against Chelsea, losing 3-1 when they were so close to another point.
Paul Lambert is going to have to play Wes Hoolahan now, as another loss here sends the Canaries into the relegation zone. Hoolahan linked up well with Chris Martin and Grant Holt the last few seasons, so maybe he should start instead of coming off the bench. Steve Morison and Simeon Jackson are two more who could very well start as Lambert tries to attack a Bolton side that is clearly reeling, and looking vulnerable in every match.
Owen Coyle will be desperate to right things at his club, who are giving away goals week in week out. Marcos Alonso, Sean Davis, Sam Ricketts, Tyrone Mears and Lee Chung-Yong are all out injured, but I feel we will see Gael Kakuta and David N’Gog, who joined the club on deadline day. This is a weakened Bolton side, and they do not look like they can keep a clean sheet at all. But they do have talent like Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnic up front who can get a goal for the side. I really do like N'Gog to score in this one, provided he gets to start. Remember, despite the losses, this team did manage to score a few times on Manchester City, who have a very good defence.
Norwich City are good for a goal here. No question. They might not have won an away fixture in 30 attempts now but they do not lack fight, and that was evident at Chelsea where they almost shocked the Blues by grabbing a point. Grant Holt will be one to keep your eye on in the goalscorer market here.
BETTING VERDICT
I'm not going to pick a side here even though I fancy Bolton to nick it. I recommend taking both teams to score here as that could easily fly in before half-time.
