PREVIEW
So here's the deal, that 8-2 loss? I'm over it. And I think Arsenal are over it too. Because if they aren't, they're in big trouble. At this level, I don't see it being a factor anymore, certainly not for this match. Arsenal followed up the 1-0 win over Swansea with a rather impressive performance against the German champions, coming within a whisker of winning where not many teams do in the Champions League. Only a late wonderstrike for Dortmund left it 1-1 in the end.
Arsenal have beaten Blackburn in 5 of their last 7 meetings. Blackburn have just 1 win against Arsenal in their last 10 meetings. Sam The Walrus Faced C*nt Allardyce is no longer the manager and under Steve Kean they do not look capable of worrying many teams, let along Arsenal.
As rubbish a start as Arsenal have had, Blackburn lie 20th in the league, with 3 losses to start before a hard-fought draw in their last game. And it's only going to get worse for Rovers in the short term, as after this tough fixture against Arsenal come matches against Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle and QPR. Can you honestly see them beating many of these teams? Me neither.
Captain Christopher Samba had a problem with his back at Craven Cottage but might just be back for this one. Ryan Nelsen, Morten Gamst Pedersen and David Dunn are all doubtful. Yakubu might just be used now that he has signed as David Goodwillie has not done much for the team so far.
For Arsenal, the recovery is very much underway. A win in the league for 3 scrumptious points and a draw in Dortmund, the toughest game in the group stages of the Champions League and now a fairly easy looking (comparatively) away fixture to hapless Blackburn.
Arteta is a player I rate, and he will only get better now he's at a bigger club with players better than the ones he has played with so far. Arshavin and Theo should terrorise Blackburn on the wings, just as they did the last time we met, where both men got on the scoresheet. Then there is the captain, Van Persie, who has netted 10 times against Blackburn, and has 10 goals in his last 11 away matches!
BETTING VERDICT
I would not put anyone off having a side punt on Van Persie scoring in this one, who has an incredible run going.
For a main bet though, I firmly believe Arsenal will win this one, and I think a safe bet is to just take the win at close to evens.
For this preview, I'll be a bit greedier and suggest giving 1 ball on the AH as it pays quite handsomely, with our money being safe if it is just a 1 goal win.
