Aloha! The Hawaii Warriors host the Colorado Buffaloes in the last game on Saturday and I feel the home team are a pretty safe bet.
Colorado move from the Big 12 to the Pac 10 conference and will do so without coach Dan Hawkins and his useless son. Hawkins had his son playing quarterback, much to the cost of the team, but the duo are not around and the Buffaloes are led by new coach Job Embree, who used to play for Colorado when he was a lad.
Quarterback duties have been handed to senior Tyler Hansen. Hansen played 7 games last season, but despite completing over 68 percent of his passes for over 1,00 yards, he threw just as many interceptions as he did touchdowns, which was 6.
Senior RB Rodney Stewart led the Colorado ground attack, with over 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns. Stewart managed 3 straight 100 yard games and racked up almost 200 against Kansas State, but did take a serious beating when running the ball and there are serious doubts as to whether he can last the season if he carries on the same way.
Hawaii linebacker Aaron Brown will not play because of suspension (he got arrested over the weekend for brawling at a club, as you do) but Corey Paredes will be in the team, which is great news. Paredes made 151 tackles last season, grabbed 4 interceptions and forced a fair few fumbles and looks a good bet to cause the Buffaloes offence some problems.
On the other side, Colorado has a pass offence that absolutely stinks and will struggle against Hawaii, who love to pass the ball when playing offence. Hawaii will be hungry for revenge after somehow losing to Colorado last season in the brief window when everything went right for the Buffaloes. Now Colorado are the ones travelling, all the way to Honolulu. Massive revenge spot for Hawaii and they should come through here.
BETTING VERDICT
The spread has been set at 6.5 but with the suspensions for Hawaii I think it's best to just take them on the ML to win.
