Aston Villa will be aiming for maximum points when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to Villa Park. Alex McLeish who is the new manager of Aston Villa, made the switch from Birmingham over the summer and managed to avoid defeat in the first match drawing against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Shay Given performed some heroics to save Villa and winger Charles N'Zogbia put in an impressive display and the summer signings will be keen to show what they can do in front of their home fans.

But Rovers has not got any quality in their side and if they failed to land any majoy signing before the deadline then they could struggle this season. If the visitors failed to get anything out of this clash then the fans are not going to have much hope of them challenging for Europe much alone if they can avoid relegation this season.

Shay Given has recovered from a groin injury he sustained against Fulham and is now fit for the clash. This means that McLeish could be tempted to name the same side that started out last weekend with Darren Bent, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Emile Heskey playing in a three-pronged attack.

Steve Kean are boosted by the fact that Nelsen and Samba have returned to training and could come in for Nzonzi and Grant Hanley in defence. Gael Givet remains out.
