Norwich are back in the Premier League and entertain Stoke city at Carrow Road. Stoke just played away in Europe on Thursday so will likely be quite tired. Add to that their away form in recent games and the likelyhood is Norwich could very well get a win here.

In getting themselves promoted, Norwich outscored every other team in the Championship, and were extremely reliable at home, losing just 4 times in front of their fans. Indeed, their last loss here came in December 2010 and since then they have gone on a run of 9 home wins and 3 draws. Impressive stuff, and while the point about the opposition being from the Championship is valid, you cannot fault their consistency.

Stoke got themselves into Europe via the FA Cup, where they were lucky enough to be playing a side already in the Champions League. That match was played in Thun on Thursday and I feel that will have an impact as they did play very hard to get their win. It's not every season a chance like that comes around for a club like Stoke. Prior to that match, Stoke had a tough opener against Chelsea, and they acquitted themselves well in holding the London side to a 0-0 draw. Both games were tough and I feel there will be a letdown here for Norwich to take advantage of.

Stoke's away form further highlights this for me. No team scored fewer goals away from home that the Potters. Stoke took just 12 points from an available 57 when travelling last year. Only Bolton were worse, with 11. I mentioned that Norwich last lost at home in the league back in December. Well that is when Stoke last won on the road in the league!

Norwich played some lovely footie at home last season, and are well rested after taking a point from their game against Wigan. They will be given a tough test by Stoke but I cannot see them losing here

BETTING VERDICT

There is a great price on Norwich to win, but Stoke are always tough opponents so I will respect that and take Norwich to win with the draw on our side.
