PREVIEW
Well that didn't work out as we'd hoped yesterday with Halladay struggling and leaving early. Philly may have lost but as I said a couple of previews ago, they're a classy team and they will bounce back. They have another ace pitching for them and I'm confident they make amends tonight.
Cliff Lee will pitch for Philadelphia and he has a commanding 2.82ERA with a 9-6 record. Lee has enough rest, having last pitched 10 days ago. His record for June is 5-0, giving up just 1 run combined! He also owns a 4-0 record against the Cubs, with a 1.59ERA in 5 starts.
The Phillies offence will receive a big lift with the inclusion of Shane Victorino, who is back in the team off the DL. In a 4 match series against the Cubs last month, Victorino went 6 for 15 and bashed out 6 runs. Good luck Garza.
The Cubs will send Matt Garza to throw the ball. His 4-7 record and 3.97ERA suggest a weaker pitcher, whose team might be due a letdown after yesterdays big win. Garza did well in his last outing, pitching 7 scoreless innings but the Cubs still lost and he got a no decision. The game before that, he got hit for 8 runs in just 2 innings, but was lucky to get another no decision.
Garza last faced the Phillies a little over a month ago and gave up 2 runs in 6 innings in a 7-1 loss.
