Edwin Jackson goes for the White Sox tonight. He is 2-4 with a 4.98ERA and is performing worse than he did last year. He is definitely pitching worse this season but what is important to look at is his current form.

That ratio assures me he is not doing well, and on the road, where the White Sox struggle, I am convinced the task will become even more difficult. The White Sox defence is arguably one of the worst in the AL and what will really hurt the White Sox's chances is the ability of the Angels bats to rack up a lot of runs tonight. Chicago just does not have enough firepower to keep pace.

Ervin Santana goes for the Angels tonight. He is 1-3 for the season with a 4.43ERA, which shows poorer form than he is capable of. As with Jackson, looking deeper into the stats shows he is improving.
While his overall numbers are not great, Santana has improved the number of walks, hits, home runs and strikes he allows and gets per 9 innings. His stats in all 4 departments for this season are better than his career stats in all 4 areas. Stats do not lie and baseball is all about the stats. Clearly, he has been getting a fair bit of bad luck, or has been in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is possible for pitchers to get screwed by his team not giving him enough support, for example.
