Analysis:

After going down 1-0 to Manchester United in the Champions League clash in midweek, Chelsea will aim to get back on the winning track when they host Wigan who are bottom of the Premiership.

Anything other then a win here would seriously undermind their chances of winning the Premiership this season. Chelsea are currently 11 points behind Manchester United in the race for the Premiership. They are currently unbeaten in five games since losing to Liverpool two months ago.

Now Chelsea are in danger of finishing the season empty handed for the first time since Roman Abramovich revolution first saw them crowned league champions in 2005.

John Terry has recently insisted that the players remain 100 per cent committed to boss Ancelotti, but it remains to be seen how long Ancelotti will get to keep his job should they fail to overturn the 1-0 deficit at Old Trafford next week.

Last May Chelsea won this fixture 8-0 as they romped home to the title and it was a similar story at the DW Stadium earlier in the campaign as the Londoners managed a 6-0 win.

As for the team news, Ancelotti has to decide who to field up front with the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka all fighting for a spot upfront. Torres and Drogba were paired together last time out but the pair have yet to click and Torres is still searching for his first goal for the club.

Meanwhile, Yossi Benayoun could return to action and Brazilian defender Alex will be on the substitutes bench.

As for the visitors, Wigan captain Gary Caldwell is available for the trip to West London after a trip to the dentist. The Scotland defender required treatment to repair three teeth after a collision with Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko last Saturday.

With him being available that means Wigan are at full strength for this trip to Chelsea. New signing Connor Sammon is pushing for a first start after three substitute appearances while Mohamed Diame will hope to start in midfield.
