After a stirring December which saw them steam up the table with four straight wins, the icy tracks of January derailed the Getafe revival. The train was steadied two weeks ago with a comfortable win over Deportivo and Getafe followed this up with a decent enough draw at Malaga.
Despite regularly disappointing attendances, Madrids third team are a much better side for playing at home, and despite losing three of the last four on their own patch they still boast a winning home record.
The odds suggest that they will take advantage of home field superiority and beat a Racing side who dont travel well and are in poor form themselves having secured their first win in 8 last weekend at home to inconsistent Sevilla.
Their last and only away win came over two months ago at struggling Mallorca, and there is nothing that suggests Santander will get another one at Getafe.
Racing have limited appeal when considering form and away results, and although they do have a win at Getafe on their recent CV theyve lost three times here in 6 attempts.
This isnt going to be pretty. Getafe are the most likely winners, and at home where they are strongest at nearly even money look the call.
