Analysis:

Manchester United goes into this match with one aim and that is to equal their club record of 29 matches unbeaten to equal the record set by the 1999 treble winning team.

The Red Devils were given a few scares this season especially last weekend when they had to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Blackpool.

Then who can forget against Villa back in November they were also on the brink of defeat until Federico Macheda and Nemanja Vidic scored inside the final 10 minutes to give them a 2-2 draw.

But on home soil they have been untouchable this season winning 11 of 12 games, with only Villa's Midlands rivals West Brom coming away with a draw.

The visitors Villa have only managed to win twice on their travels this season although they did inflict one of only two home losses on United in the 2009/10 campaign.

As for the team news ahead of this clash, Ferguson is likely to make changes after coming from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 last weekend. This means that we will see veteran goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar set to replace Anders Lindegaard, who made his debut against Southampton as well as a new backline.

Rafael is available again after concussion, Patrice Evra missed out at St Mary's due to a family bereavement, while Rio Ferdinand and Vidic is expected to resume their partnership once again.

In attack we will see Dimitar Berbatov and Ferguson needs to decide whether to start with Wayne Rooney or Javier Hernandez as the Bulgarian's partner.

Michael Carrick will miss out with an ankle injury, so it will be from Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher and Anderson who will start in midfield, with Nani and Ryan Giggs on the flanks.

As for the visitors, Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel will become the club's oldest ever player at the age of 39 years and 259 days when the American starts this match.

After beating Blackburn 3-1 in the FA Cup, they will ring the changes as well with Richard Dunne and James Collins expected to return to the side. The likes of Ashley Young, Stewart Downing and Stiliyan Petrov will also be in the starting lineup but Nathan Baker is suspended after being sent off against Blackburn.

Record signing Darren Bent will also be back in the side after being rested in the cup win which means that Nathan Delfouneso will drop to the bench. Gabriel Agbonlahor will undergo a late fitness test after suffering a hamstring injury against Blackburn so his condition will be check upon before kickoff.

Take Manchester United to win this match.

Cheers and good luck,
Cruiser
