2010-11-22 - Sunderland vs Everton
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Sunderland will want to prove that their win over leaders Chelsea was no fluke as they take on Everton on Monday Night Football. The Black Cats shocked the World when they thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in one of the most remarkable results of all time courtesy of goals from Nedum Onuoha, Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck.
That brought their recent run of seven points from three games and they have done extremely well since the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle not long ago.
To date Steve Bruce side have played all the top clubs and will feel that they have a chance to make a push for a place into Europe next season now. However, Bruce has admitted that he has a selection headache for the visit of the Toffees after welcoming Darren Bent back to fitness.
Bent has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury but what would seem a straightforward decision to recall his top scorer, but Gyan and Welbeck were so impressive against the Blues that it is a difficult decision to make here.
David Meyler is working his way back towards full match fitness following a serious knee injury, but Fraizer Campbell remains out with a knee injury. John Mensah (shoulder) and Anton Ferdinand (hamstring) will be missing once again between two sides known for their tight defences this season.
Everton goes into this match knowing they have yet to hit their best form in front of goal. They have however only conceded 13 times this season at the back. David Moyes' side have slipped back towards the relegation zone after collecting just two points from their past three games. Their last match was a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.
But with the midtable being congested, a win for Everton would bring them from 16th to 10th in the standings. The good news for Moyes is that after the International in midweek, there are no new fresh injuries to the side. However, their long term injuries remains with the likes of Leon Osman (ankle), Victor Anichebe (knee) and Ross Barkley (broken leg) still out of the side.
