Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson (20) and Newcastle striker Andy Carroll (21) are set to make their England debuts after impressive display with their club sides. Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs (21) will win his second cap after making his debut in the friendly win over Hungary in August. On the other hand, Birmingham's Ben Foster is set to win his fifth cap in goal with Joe Hart ruled out by a back injury.
Micah Richards (22) and Theo Walcott (21)will both be keen to impress as they stake a place in the future of England's squad. Richards, in particular, has a point to prove as the Manchester City right-back will make his first international appearance for three years having won 11 caps in 12 months. This will be his big break since Steve McClaren gave him a debut as an 18-year-old in November 2006.
Meanwhile, James Milner will win his 15th cap alongside Man City team-mate Gareth Barry in midfield. Everton's Phil Jagielka will also earn his seventh cap at centre-half alongside fit-again captain Rio Ferdinand.
It will be noted that Rio Ferdinand will reach the 80-cap milestone against Les Bleus and go joint 14th with Gary Lineker on the list of England's most-capped players. The experience in the side comes from Liverpool star Steven Gerrard, who is expected to play just behind Carroll.
As for France, they are now rebuilding their side after a poor World Cup showing. Their campaign was hit by fighting in the side with the players refusing to train for coach Raymond Domenech after his fall-out with Nicolas Anelka, and it had already been confirmed that Laurent Blanc would succeed Domenech following the World Cup. And with the 23 World Cup players all suspended, Blanc had to name a completely fresh squad for his opening game, a 2-1 friendly defeat in Norway.
France then lost their opening Euro 2012 qualifier at home to Belarus but regrouped to claim three successive 2-0 wins over Bosnia, Romania and Luxembourg.
As for the team news, Newcastle have surprisingly asked England coach Capello not to select Carroll. Nevertheless, the striker who picked up a groin problem during Saturday's game against Fulham will start after appearing to prove his fitness during a training session at Wembley on Tuesday.
For the visitors, Tottenham's Younes Kaboul was handed his first call-up as cover for Phillipe Mexes, but the Roma defender looks set to shake off a calf problem for France, who inflicted Capello's first defeat as England boss in March 2008.
Meanwhile, Rennes midfielder Yann M'vila, 20, is set to remain in the side after being one of the stand-out players under Blanc. Also, defender Mamadou Sakho who plays fort Paris St Germain could make his debut at some point. Yoann Gourcuff and Arsenal's Samir Nasri could also start behind Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in this match.
