So, the Bulls are on the road, and this is actually the first of 7 straight away games for Chicago as they can't go home till the circus leaves town! Anyway, they've got to play 7 games in 12 days, so this isn't going to be easy. Luckily, as this is game one of that road trip, the issues that will come into play later do not matter here.
Chicago come into this one with a very good road record against the spread. In their last 13, they have covered 10 games on the road, and are playing particularly well on defence. Opponents of Chicago are averaging less than 93 points per game, which is encouraging because Houston just ain't all that!
Chicago has a 3-0 record in recent meetings with Houston, and it is only because this game is in Houston that sees the Bulls priced as dogs.
HOUSTON ROCKETS (3-6)
Houston come into this in some seriously rubbish form. Sure they are at home, but that situation sees them priced as favourites in a game I see them losing outright. Houston are now 3-6 for the season and the wins have come against teams that are not as good as the Chicago Bulls. Indiana and Minnesota are weak, while the Knicks aren't especially impressive either.
Injuries will further weaken Houston tonight, as they will be without Yao Ming and Aaron Brooks. I've also been having a look at Houston's ATS record, and they have covered only 33% in their last 30 at home!
Although Houston are winners of their last 2, they face a Bulls team on a 3 match winning surge too, and Houston, as mentioned, have not played and beaten teams as good as Chicago.
