Match Analysis :
After the defeat to Arsenal at home, Manchester City will be aiming to bounce back with all three points when they travel to the Molineux to face Wolverhampton.
Roberto Mancini's side City were beaten 3-0 by the Gunners on their home soil last time out after Dedryck Boyata saw red early on, and Mancini will want a quick response from his side in this match. City are currently five points off league leaders Chelsea but are level with second place and a win would help ease their last defeat greatly here.
Wolves sit second bottom with just six points from nine games and are on a poor run of form heading into this match. Mick McCarthy's men went down 3-2 to Manchester United in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, but there encouraging signs to take away after the match. They were beaten by Chelsea before that but they did put in a commendable game which does not reflects their current league position.
If Manchester City were to under-estimate Wolves then they could find themselves being surprised as how Chelsea saw how dangerous they were when they moved forward.
But it must be pointed out here that McCarthy's side have not kept a clean sheet this term and have not done so in 12 games - their last coming at Fulham back in April.
For the record, the two teams have only ever met twice at Molineux in the Premier League. City were on the receiving end of a 1-0 reverse seven years ago but last season they won comfortable 3-0.
As for the team news, Manchester City will miss Carlos Tevez who sustained a leg injury in the defeat to Arsenal. The Argentina international has returned to his homeland to be with his family admist rumours that he does not see eye to eye with the manager. That means Emmanuel Adebayor will start upfront here. Mancini also has further attacking options in the form of Brazilian striker Jo and recent signing Mario Balotelli.
Meanwhile Boyata is suspended after his red card last weekend while Michael Johnson (knee) and Aleksandar Kolarov (ankle) are also out of the side. The good news is that Kolo Toure could be fit to feature having missed the last three games with a hamstring problem.
For the home side Wolves, Captain Karl Henry will return from suspension for this match. The midfielder has served a three-match suspension following his sending off against Wigan a month ago and is eager for action.
Central defender Jody Craddock remains out of the side with a thigh injury, while Stephen Hunt is in line to make his first league start since his summer move from Hull City after recovering from a foot injury.
