If ever there was living proof of making your home ground a fortress, then Millwall at The New Den are the epitome of this statement.
Millwall (4th)
As Millwall prepare for the visit of Berkshire side Reading, they will attempt to extend their 100% winning record at home to nine matches on the trot, while taking their unbeaten tally on home turf to an incredible 22 matches in all competitions.
I’m quite sure if Manchester United and/or Chelsea possessed such a record (they probably do, but haven't been bothered to check!), then we’d hear all about it on the various football punditry. Anyway, Millwall currently sit fourth and a win tonight could take them to joint top of the division.
The Lions have continued their promotion-winning form from League One into the Championship with two straight convincing home wins over Hull City 4-0 and Coventry City 3-1.
Free-flowing football on the pitch has gone a long way in recent months to dispel the tag of "no-one likes us" that Millwall are synonymous with. I, for one, am becoming a fan of their attractive football.
In-form Lions striker Steve Morison scored his second league goal of the season at the weekend at Nottingham Forest and will be keen to net again in front of the home crowd on Tuesday night. Steve Morison to score first @ 6.50 or anytime @ 2.60 look decent side bets with bet365.
Reading (8th)
Reading have improved in recent weeks following a stuttery start to the new season. The Royals were without a win in their first three; a 1-2 loss at home to Scunthorpe United, 1-1 at Portsmouth, then 1-1 at home to Nottingham Forest.
Despite this, they have strung together back-to-back wins since with victories over Leicester City 2-1 away, and a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
However, the recent win over Leicester City was their first success on the road in the last six attempts and despite their current 8th position, they don't yet look a convincing unit away from their Madejski Stadium.
The Royals are unbeaten away from home so far this season though, and with this in mind I've plumped for a more cautious approach for Tuesday night's tip in this match.
