WEST HAM UNITED
The Hammers have lost all their 3 games so far this season, with opponents averaging 3 goals against them. Avram Grant will not be relishing the prospect of his old team heading east across the capital to beat up on his charges.
So, 3-0 to Villa, 3-1 to Bolton and 3-0 to Manchester United. The only question you're asking yourself is, how many will Chelsea score? It's a good question, considering the quality of 2 of the teams they've faced and of course there is the small matter of one Robert Green, the West Ham goalkeeper, who is making damn sure no one thinks that cock-up at the World Cup was a one time thing. He's let in 9 goals so far and will be between the sticks again on Saturday, for all the good that is going to do West Ham.
Scott Parker, an ex-Chelsea player, is the most reliable player in the West Ham side, but as I've said before, one player ain't enough. Carlton Cole still isn't doing what he's supposed to, and Dyer and Boa Morte are also not living up to their potential.
CHELSEA
Three wins out of 3, 14 goals scored, 0 conceded. How the hell are they priced at 1/3? What am I missing? Carlo Ancelotti's team is going through teams like a hot knife through butter and I'm still not sure whether it's because they're as hot as my dogs last bowel movement, or whether it's the opponents who are just not up to it.
Chelsea will return two of their most influential players for this match. Frank Lampard and John Terry will definitely be in the side that plays West Ham, and with the two England players having missed the international qualifiers, they should be well rested for this one.
They'll be joined by Yossi Benayoun, who scored a hat-trick for Israel, and Didier Drogba, who knows a thing or two about scoring goals. Florent Malouda scored in the qualifiers for France, but then again he is always a threat when playing for Chelsea.
I can't see a Hammers side that lacks confidence making this a contest. It's going to be up to Chelsea to dictate the game and if they come in with a twinkle in their eye, this one could get ugly.
BETTING VERDICT
Chelsea will win and if it's by less than 2 goals I'm going to look up in the sky and start counting the pigs fly by.
