Houston Astros (64-73) Streak: L1
On Monday, Houston and Cubs played the 1st game in this series and the game went under, which tends to happen in Astros games. Houston has been pitching very well and so the number is at 9 today, which is a tad low considering the pitchers tonight.
Houston will start Nelson Figueroa, and he has actually been very reliable since entering the rotation. He's allowed no more than 2 runs in all 4 of his starts, with all games going under.
Again, that has been factored into this number today and after 4 unders, he's due. The number being lower than it should be also helps increase this likelyhood.
Chicago Cubs (60-78) Streak: W1
Carlos Silva is pitching for the Cubs tonight, after coming off the DL. He started the season well but then had a rapid heartbeat problem and since then he's been poor.
Silva was sent to the minors for a bit and was average there too. He is rested, but the lack of action I feel will affect him. His pitch count too could be high, meaning the likelyhood of giving up runs, walks, hits and also leaving early to hand things over to the bullpen.
The Cubs bullpen has a 5.28 ERA for the season, which is the 2nd worst in the entire MLB.
The Cubs are however scoring runs of late. They have averaged 6.6 runs per game in their last 8 games. With the wind playing up, I expect them to enjoy scoring a few in their home field.
