Analysis:The Dutch side will want to go into the last eight as they take on Slovakia at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight. Netherlands have managed 100% record to date and have yet to drop a point in their wins over Denmark, Japan and Cameroon in Group E.
The Dutch is expected to advance to the quarter-finals and they could face either Brazil or Chile on Saturday. However it will be foolish to look down on Slovakia after they knocked out reigning World Champions Italy out of the World Cup last Thursday. After the shock 3-2 win over Italy there are people who believe they can create more shocks now.
Netherlands who have yet to win the World Cup, finishing as runners-up in the 1974 and 1978 finals, lost to Portugal at this stage of the tournament four years ago but they will feel confident they can see off the Slovaks with the calibre of players they have.
Star striker Robin van Persie scored against Cameroon while Arjen Robben came on as a substitute and played well after overcoming a hamstring injury.
However, Robben is likely tostay on the bench for this match and may only been called upon if necessary with the Dutch looking to save the Bayern Munich winger for the last eight. That will mean that Rafael Van der Vaart is set to retain his place in Holland's midfield while Khalid Boulahrouz and Gregory van der Wiel will battle it out for a place in the Dutch defence.
Slovakia on the other hand could decide to start with the same side that stunned Italy in their last match. Juraj Kucka, Erik Jendrisek and Miroslav Stoch all did well and the coach Weiss will hope they will perform to expectations once again.
The Slovaks will be without suspended Zdeno Strba, meaning the defensive midfield duties are likely to fall to Kamil Kopunek here.
