CFR just won the second Romanian League title in their history and is seeking now for the second “event” (Cup and championship) in 3 years.

SC Vaslui
For the second year in a row, Vaslui pulled off a good season, out passing clubs like Steaua or Rapid. It is the first time in history when a team from Moldova (an eastern region from Romania) finishes on the podium of the championship.
The club owner, Adrian Porumboiu declared that he is not happy with the performances so far, but a Cup would save the season. It would be the first trophy in this clubs history.
Vaslui’s coach, Marius Lacatus (winner of the Champions Cup in 1986 as player of Steaua) has great expectations from this final, it would be his first trophy as a manager even if he coached Steaua in the past. This could also be his last game on the bench of Vaslui, he said that he will leave Romania at the end of the season to live in Spain.
Vaslui reched the final after defeating Chimia Brazi (5-0), Gaz Metan Medias (1-0), International Arges (1-0) and FC Brasov (4-1 agg).
Forwards Gerlem and Temwanjera are injured and goalkeeper Dusan Kuciak will miss this final because he already joined Slovakia national team for the Word Cup preparations.
