Analysis:In what could have a been the battle for the Scudetto, instead this will just be a match to salvage some pride when Milan clash with Juventus at the San Siro tonight.
When the schedule was drawn up at the beginning of the season, many thought this would potentially be the battle for the title or at least the Champions League spots.
However, they are both out of the title race as it belongs to Inter Milan and their fates are sealed, as Milan have third place under lock while Juventus find themselves into the Europa League via the preliminary round following a dismal 3-2 home defeat to Parma last week.
A.C Milan's coach Leonardo will also move on as well as his opposite counterpart in Alberto Zaccheroni for Juventus. However, the future is uncertain for the likes of Mauro Camoranesi, Pippo Inzaghi, David Trezeguet, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Felipe Melo.
Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato have a particular point to prove after failing to make it into Brazil's preliminary World Cup squad, although teammate Thiago Silva is in Carlos Dunga's list for the Brazil squad in the World Cup this summer.
Pato just recently made his comeback from injury after 2 months during last week's 1-0 defeat at Genoa, so he should complete a trident with Marco Borriello and Dinho in the side. Massimo Ambrosini returns from suspension and could start. The only one out on the injured list remains David Beckham.
For Juventus, their campaign has been plagued by injuries. The season is over for Momo Sissoko, Sebastian Giovinco and Antonio Chimenti, while Paolo De Ceglie and Jonathan Zebina are likely to make way for Fabio Grosso and Martin Caceres.
Antonio Candreva could start in midfield and that means Claudio Marchisio could make way for him. At the back Nicola Legrottaglie, who has been left out of the World Cup, could replace Fabio Cannavaro and partner Giorgio Chiellini.
Vincenzo Iaquinta is in the 30-man long list for Italy's World Cup squad despite missing five months through injury, so he'll be eager to again prove himself in this final Serie A match. The likes of Amauri and David Trezeguet are likely to start from the bench alongside with international Mauro Camoranesi.
For the record, Juventus are unbeaten at the San Siro since losing 3-1 in October 2005. They were beaten by Milan at home this season with Alessandro Nesta scoring once and Ronaldinho scoring twice.
