2010-05-09 - Arsenal F.C vs Fulham
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Arsenal knows they have to win this match as there is the matter of finishing third in the league now. Arsenal will end the season empty handed so the best they can do is finish third and avoid playing in the Champions League Qualifiers if Tottenham were to beat them to the third spot.
Arsenal have been on a dreadful run of late with only one win in five and losing three of their last four games. The Gunners have also won just two of their last seven London derbies at Emirates Stadium, which does not go well for them.
But the good news is that out of eight meetings with Fulham at home, they have won six games and drawn two. Also it must be remembered that Arsenal have won all seven of their Premier League home dates on the final day of the season.
Fulham on the other hand have managed to keep five clean sheets in their last seven final day matches. One statistic we must take note of is that Fulham have never drawn their last game of the season during the Premier League era, while Arsenal have only been held once.
And Fulham seems to be in trouble as Roy Hodgson's side have won none of their last 29 local derbies away from home coming into this match.
But Fulham will not be putting their priorities in this match as they have more important matters to look ahead to a meeting with Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final next Wednesday and may even rest their key players to avoid injuries ahead of the game.
As for the team news, left back Gael Clichy is available once again as he is back after an ankle problem. Meanwhile, Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin should start, but Tomas Rosicky (ankle), Alex Song (knee) and Nicklas Bendtner (groin) are out. Cesc Fabregas (knee), William Gallas (calf), Thomas Vermaelen (calf), Denilson (groin), goalkeeper Manuel Almunia (wrist) and Aaron Ramsey (leg) season is also already come to an end.
For Fulham, they will not risk fielding Bobby Zamora with nothing more to play here. He is still recovering from an Achilles injury and is likely to be given as long as possible to prepare for European action. Damien Duff will not be risked either as he is still out with a knee injury.
Other than that Hodgson has no new fresh injuries to contend with apart from Andy Johnson out with a knee injury.
Take Arsenal to win here by a one goal margin.
Cheers and good luck,
