Analysis:Inter faces a tough hurdle if they are to retain their Serie A title as they have to travel to face Fiorentina in this clash. In midweek they beat CSKA Moscow and they are still in the runn ing for three trophies - the Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League.
The pressure is on them as they are just a point above Roma in the standings and a packed fixture list to come, can they withstand the pressure?
While Roma and M ilan have straight forward games against Atalanta and Catania respectively this weekend, the Serie A leaders risk relinquishing League leadership if they leave Florence with anything other than a win. It will not be easy with Fiorentina also having everything to fight for.
The home side still have the Europa League to fight for coming into this match. At the moment they are currently four points off sixth placed Napoli. Though it is difficult, but striker Stefan Jovetic believes it’s possible.
However it must be stated here that their home record against the big clubs is surprisingly poor this term. Roma, Milan and Juventus have all left the Stadio Artemio Franchi with full points.
Interestingly this will be a warm up before their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg which takes place next Tuesday. Inter have a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg at San Siro in February.
As for the injury news, Fiorentina’s Cristiano Zanetti, Alessandro Gamberini and Vlada Avramov are injured, while for Inter, Davide Santon, Thiago Motta and Francesco Toldo are out.
