Analysis:

Neither side could afford to lose this match in this battle against relegation encounter. Only two points separate the sides as they face off in the last chance to stay up in Serie A.

Atalanta are 18th, four points from safety, whilst Siena are 19th, six away from survival. A win is a must for either of these clubs as there are just six more games to go.

Atalanta needs a win badly here considering their fixtures to come as they will face Roma, Fiorentina and Inter in the next three weeks to come. After that a home tie against Bologna before another two tough fixtures against Napoli and Palermo.

Atalanta are no doubt missing last season's top scorer in Sergio Floccari. Their target has b een set as mid table but now they are battling against relegation. However the club erred with the appointment of boss Angelo Gregucci and things have gone badly since then.

Current Coaches Alberto Malesani and Bortolo Mutti knows that they must battle till the last before the end of Serie A. Both teams have showed admirable spirit and resilience as the season comes to a close.

As for the team news, Atalanta’s Paolo Zanetti, Javier Chevanton, Edgar Barreto, Leonardo Talamonti and Gianpaolo Bellini are all out injured, while for Siena’s Albin Ekdal, Francesco Parravicini and Luca Rossettini will not see any action here today.
