Analysis:It can't get any bigger than this as Louis van Gaal meets Sir Alex Ferguson in the coaching department, while in attack we have Fran k Ribery taking on Wayne Rooney to see who is the best.

Bayern also has a weak defence and that was fully evident in the two legs against Fiorentina, with Daniel van Buyten particularly unimpressive in the opening meeting to be replaced by half time.
For United look towards Wayne Rooney who has 33 goals to his credit. Ribery has even said that United are a one man team, relying too much on him.
Then there is the battle between Bayern full-back Philipp Lahm and developing United winger Nani to see who will come out tops while in midfield, Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick are expected to compete with Van Bommel to see who are superior.
Gary Neville who was one of the survivors in the 1999 final will be giv en the task to mark Ribery. Veteran goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar will start in goal. Interestingly he played under Van Gaal 15 years ago at Ajax when the Dutch giants earned Champions League glory at Juventus' expense.
