It’s top versus second in the match of the season in League One – Norwich City host Leeds United in what promises to be an absolute cracker!
When I looked at the odds I was surprised by the generosity shown by our good friends the bookies – home side Norwich top of the league priced at 2.05 with Pinnacle, and only because they are playing Leeds, no other reason that I can fathom.

Norwich City’s fantastic season suffered a temporary blip when they lost 0-2 at home to Southampton, but soon bounced back with back-to-back wins at Carrow Road against Southend United 2-1 and Yeovil Town 3-0.
Aside from the Southampton result, they have now recorded 13 straight home wins, and only Huddersfield Town can match their 42 home goals tally, and have been consistently the best team in the league all season.
The Canaries’ home record reads 14-2-2 42/18 and fully deserve to get promoted back to the Championship.
Striker Grant Holt (22 goals, 10 assists) is enjoying his best-ever season, and with the likes of striker Chris Martin (14 goals) and creative midfielders Wesley Hoolahan (11 goals, 13 assists) & Simon Lappin (8 assists), it’s easy to see why Norwich have done so well this season.
Leeds United (2nd) Away : 9-5-4 29:18
Just when a team’s season demands consistency, Leeds United now have the jitters – they have recorded only one away win in their last seven matches on the road (4-1 at Tranmere Rovers), while draws at Hartlepool Utd (2-2), Leyton Orient (1-1) and 2-2 at Huddersfield Town have not helped their cause.
Their away record reads 9-5-4 29/18, but they do possess the necessary firepower to disrupt their opponents; striker Jermaine Beckford (21 goals) leads the way, however he is struggling with a hamstring injury, while Aussie Patrick Kisnorbo (1 goal) is ruled out.
But fellow striker Luciano Becchio (10 goals) remains a threat along with midfielders Robert Snodgrass (7 goals, 7 assists) and Bradley Johnson (7 goals, 2 assists) who create the chances.
The Betting Verdict :
Despite all this, I’m taking the bulls by the horns and backing Norwich City to record another home win here.
