Milan restored their winning ways by beating Chievo last weekend but it certainly was not an easy win. It needed a late strike from Clarence Seedorf to get the three points but they still man aged to get maximum poin ts and that is what mattered most.

As it is now the gap between them and neighbours Inter Milan is just one point. Forget the fact that they were beaten by Manchester United, now their sights is on the Scudetto and at the time of writing this preview, it remains 1-1 with Inter Milan travelling to Palermo, so Milan will hope their rivals come un stuck here.

Napoli are struggling at the moment which shows that confidence in the side is low and that suggest they do not have the confidence to believe they can finish in the top four. They are beset with defensive problems a nd on ly a few players capable of Champions League standards, it is no doubt why their confidence have been at an all time low.

If they failed to qualify for Europe they could lose the likes of Marek Hamsik to other sides who could play in Europe next season.

As for Milan they are already missing David Beckham due to a ruptured Achilles which means he is also out of the World Cup. The former Real Madrid star is joined on the sidelines by American centre-back Oguchi Onyewu, whose campaign is also over, Alessandro Nesta and Daniele Bonera.

Napoli has big problems in defence and it is no surprise why they are losing matches. Italian duo Gianluca Grava and Salvatore Aronica, former Liverpool flop Andrea Dossena and the promising Fabiano Santacroce are all unavailable as they are out injured. Austrian forward Erwin Hoffer is also ruled out, with the earliest he can return is next week.
