Analysis:

Burnley will once again be counting on their home form when Bolton pays a visit on Boxing Day and they could climb up a few places if other results go their way.

Apart from the home defeat to Wigan back in October, they have earned all their 18 Premier League points at home. They were beaten by Wolves 2-0 last weekend and are now banking on their home form to get them all three points here.

As for Bolton, they are coming into this match after a hard 3-3 battle with Manchester City which was then followed up by a 3-1 victory over Wet Ham last time out but still find themselves in the bottom three spot. However, they have not won on the road since September and will be hard pressed to get anything out of this match.

As for the team news, Steven Caldwell and Clarke Carlisle who are Burnley's first choice centre backs are both doubtful with groin injuries after they were forced off the match against Wolves. Michael Duff and Joey Gudjonsson replaced them but it remains to be seen if they are kept in the side or Coyle also has the option of dropping Andre Bikey back from central midfield. Right-back Tyrone Mears sustained a head injury in that game but is expected to start this match.

As for Bolton, they will make this short journey without the likes of Fabrice Muamba. The midfielder's one-game suspension for picking up five yellow cards has been carried over after Wanderers' clash with Wigan was postponed on Monday Night Football.

Gavin McCann is expected to have recovered from an ankle injury and could start this match but Megson has plenty of other options in midfield with Chris Basham also hoping to start.

Ivan Klasnic is set to start rather than Johan Elmander in attack as he has scored three goals in his last two starts.

I will go for Burnley with their superior home form to get the win here.
