San Diego Chargers (11-3) @ Tennessee Titans (7-7)

Both the San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans captured the attention of the sportsbetting community last Sunday as both teams play in field goal games.
The Titans blew an 18-point lead only to see the Miami Dolphins come all the way back and force overtime but the Titans still escaped with a three-point win.
Meanwhile, the Chargers also blew a lead (11 points) but they managed to kick a game-winning field goal as time was expiring to still hammer down the win.
With the win, the Chargers locked down the No. 2 seed in the AFC, which means that they’ll have home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs as long as they play anyone besides the Indianapolis Colts and they’ll also have a first-round bye.
On one hand, the Chargers don’t have a whole lot to play for in this contest whereas the Titans, who are the No. 11 seed in the AFC, are just one game out of a playoff spot.
With the Titans win over the Miami Dolphins, they moved to 7-7 and sit just one game behind the 8-6 Baltimore Ravens and the 8-6 Denver Broncos. Both the Broncos and Ravens are underdogs on the road next week, so it is conceivable that the Titans could move into playoff positioning with a win.
While the Titans have more on the line, sports wagering handicappers would be wise not to bet against the Chargers, who have won nine straight games overall and 17 straight in December.
The Chargers are the No. 2 seed in the AFC, they have the better record and they are the better team, yet they are an underdog?
While it may not make sense at first, the Titans have more on the line in this game, which is why they are the favorite.
Keep in mind though that ‘must win’ doesn’t mean ‘will win’ as time and time again we see desperate teams falling to teams who are just loose with no pressure on them.
That’s exactly what the Chargers are and they should have fun shredding one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. The Titans pass defense is ranked 31st in the NFL, which does not bode well considering Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates are coming to town.
On top of that, the Titans lost two of their three starting linebackers for the season now as Keith Bulluck and David Thornton will be out. Bulluck is the heart and soul of the defense and he also helps everyone line up.
The Betting Verdict
The Chargers will score points rather easily in this game and while the Titans will keep up for a while, they won’t beat the Chargers at their game.
