Analysis:After suffering a shock defeat to Aston Villa in their last match, Sir Alex Ferguson will hope to celebrate his 900th league game with a win and continue their title defence against Wolverhampton.
The defeat to Aston Villa was the first defeat to them in 26 years and denied the reigning Premier League champions the chance to move level on points with current leaders Chelsea. A win here will see them draw level with Carlo Ancelotti's side even though for 24 hours before Chelsea play their match tomorrow.
Even though the Red Devils dominated possession against Villa, but struggled to create many clear-cut chances and that will be something Sir Alex Ferguson will want to rectify in this match.
United will not forget that Wolves did beat them 1-0 back in 2004 and will be too aware that Wolves did create a shock 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend, so they cannot be taken lightly here as well.
The two teams have already met once at Old Trafford already this season, with Danny Welbeck's goal securing a 1-0 win for United in the third round of the Carling Cup in September.
As for the team news, United could be boosted by the return of Rafael da Silva from injury. Should Rafael is passed fit to play, he could come in at right-back to allow Darren Fletcher to move into his more familiar central midfield role. The likes of Rio Ferdinand, John O'Shea, Jonny Evans, Gary Neville and Fabio da Silva are still out injured, so Wes Brown will continue to partner Nemanja Vidic at centre-half.
Tomasz Kuszczak is again expected to start ahead of Ben Foster as Edwin van Der Sar is still out injured. Ryan Giggs is a doubt due to a hamstring injury which forced him off at half-time against Villa, but Paul Scholes is available after serving a one-match ban.
Upfront Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen will be hoping to get the nod to partner Wayne Rooney who started alone against Villa.
As for Wolves, McCarthy will miss the services of David Edwards who has been ruled out for 10 weeks with an ankle injury picked up in the match against Tottenham. He will now join Andy Keogh and Michael Kightly already out injured.
Chris Iwelumo made a late substitute's appearance in that match but he is once again expected to start from the bench. Defender Ronald Zubar missed out at the weekend with an ongoing thigh strain and will once again sit out this clash.
