Analysis:

Sam Allardyce who is an old friend of Hull City managers Phil Brown will have to put friendship aside as he looks to get maximum points here for Blackburn.

And with just two points separating them at the lower end of the Premier League table with Hull City in 16th and Rovers four places above them neither will be happy with a draw.

Hull City were beaten by Aston Villa 3-0 last weekend and will be eager to get back to return ways. The loss of record signing Jimmy Bullard was a big blow in that game to them. That defeat brought them back down despite Bullard helping them to turnaround their fortunes last month.

For Blackburn, Allardyce takes his team on a high after their last two meetings boasting a Carling Cup victory over Chelsea and a draw against Liverpool and will hope to get maximum points here.

But it must be said that those results came at Ewood Park and they have struggled away from home this season. On their travels they have suffered six defeats and earning just one victory so far this season.

As for the team news, Hull have injury doubts over defenders Anthony Gardner (knee) and Andy Dawson (thigh), though Brown hopes they could be fit despite missing training this week. The good news is that Midfielder Seyi Olofinjana is back in contention after missing four games with a hamstring injury. His return could help the side since the absence of star player Jimmy Bullard (knee), who faces six to eight weeks out.

Full-back or winger Bernard Mendy has recovered from a leg problem and Brown may consider recalling fit-again goalkeeper Boaz Myhill for this match.

As for the visitors,they are unlieky to risk midfielder David Dunn at the KC Stadium as he continues his recovery from a calf problem. Dunn sustained the injury against Stoke two weeks ago and missed the Carling Cup victory over Chelsea and the goalless draw with Liverpool. But Allardyce will likely field him in the match at Birmingham on Tuesday.
