Most NFL betting fans know that the Indianapolis Colts-Houston Texans rivalry has been as one-sided as it gets. The two teams have faced each other 15 times and the Texans have won just once.
A couple of weeks ago, the Texans played the Colts fairly tough but kicker Kris Brown missed a potential game-tying field gold as time was basically expiring. He followed up that gaffe with a second consecutive fourth quarter game-tying miss against the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football just this week.
Online betting cappers know that the Texans have failed several times in the fourth quarter this year and execution has really been their biggest fault. Now they get a visit from one of the teams that executes better than anyone else.
While most people would like to see the Texans make the playoffs since they are a talented, young team, the reality is that they just haven’t been good enough to deserve a playoff berth.
This is an important game for the Texans, who can’t afford another loss if they want to stay in the playoff picture, but they aren’t going to get it against Peyton Manning and company.
So the Colts have dominated this series for a long time, so why expect anything to change?
The Colts still have Peyton Manning and one of the best sets of receivers in the NFL while the Texans still have no pass rush and still don’t have much of a secondary.
The Texans rank in the middle of the pack in pass defense but the bigger concern is their pass rush. They have sacked opposing quarterback just 13 times this year, which gives them the second fewest sacks in the NFL.
On the flipside, they’ll be facing the league’s best passing attack with an offensive line that has allowed just eight sacks on the year.
For the Texans to win, they’ll have to show some confidence in running back Steve Slaton, who has had fumbling problems this year. The Texans have to run the ball and play keep away if they want to win.
The reality is that the Texans are beat down after another disheartening loss and now they face a team that they can’t seem to beat.
